The Lanterne Rouge is the final finisher in the Tour de France, the most grueling race in the world. The last place rider receives honorable recognition because he has spent the most time in the race - enduring the most suffering, turning himself inside-out to cross the finish line.

There have been prosperous, first-place times and there have been times when the light of the red lantern has lit up the city of Detroit. But tirelessly, Detroit is here to compete and we can’t stop, won’t stop.
