The Co-Op Coffee Shop is a worker co-operative with the purpose of creating stable ethical jobs for those who are actively trying to create a better world and to show that an alternative model to 'business as usual' in Adelaide, SA is necessary.

We are a collective in the process of starting a worker's co-operative coffee house in the Adelaide CBD. What is a worker's co-op? It's simply a business which is democratically controlled and owned by the workers. Any business can be a co-operative and we think there are few legitimate reasons why most, if not all businesses shouldn't be co-operatives. Democracy should not be left at the doorstep when we go to work. We hope you will come along as the shop progresses. There are opportunities to join as a worker-owner, supporter and investor. Equally important, we want to share what resources we have and the steps we have followed for you to open your own independent and autonomous co-op.
