For 27 years, The Chicago Chop House has been located in an immaculately restored, century old Victorian brownstone building, in the heart of Chicago's River North neighborhood. Visiting The Chicago Chop House is like traveling back in time to the "Roaring '20s", where the rule of Prohibition made heroes of gangsters, and villains of the police and politicians that tried to enforce it. The Chicago Chop House is a return to the "Speakeasy" of yesteryear, where a delicious steak, highly coveted bottle of red, and the sweet sounds of jazz were a welcomed escape from the turmoil of the times.
More than 1400 historical photographs line the walls of The Chicago Chop House. Each photo tells the tale of old Chicago; from the meat-packers, politicians, and gangsters that vied for control of the city, to the musicians that helped a sloping society dance through it all.
