Nice Green Café at Cecil Sharp House: Open 7 days a week for lunch, tea and pre-concert dinner. We also cater for weddings, parties, conferences and events and would be delighted to discuss your requirements. All our dishes are lovingly prepared using seasonal, fair trade ingredients, all at folk friendly prices.
Cecil Sharp House is a 1930s building with a walled garden, home to folk dance, song and performance. The rehearsal spaces are used by a diverse mix of groups ranging from Strictly Come Dancing and English National opera, to orchestras and bands such as Mumford and sons, Massive Violins, and Sam Lee.
Reviews:
“There was something about the café that I felt drawn to; it could well have been the delightful-tasting cakes or that it felt homely. Homemade food, warm friendly faces in an extremely convenient location for a very good cause, it’s really worth a visit, ladies and gentlemen.”
The Ruckus
“Cecil Sharp House is a great place to visit even when there isn’t any music playing. You may not think you like folk. And maybe you don’t. But you can’t say for sure until you’ve been to Cecil Sharp House.
In the Nice Green Café, a cosy hideaway in the basement you can munch on daily changing delights…cakes and buns are freshly baked throughout the day and bestow the café with a lovely scent. This is the kind of homely food Jamie Oliver was trying to get his school dinner ladies to cook; fresh, healthy and yummy.”
