Mi Casa's mission is to advance the economic success of Latino families.
Mi Casa was founded in 1976 by eight mothers in west Denver who wanted to create a safe place for people to advance their education and acquire career skills. At its inception, Mi Casa began offering job-training programs for women to help them break into higher paid occupations traditionally filled by men. Mi Casa expanded in the 1980s to include bilingual business training and counseling services to nurture the natural entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Denver's Latino communities. And in the late 1990s, Mi Casa responded to the need for afterschool enrichment by launching school-based programs for middle and high school youth and their families.
