This quaint little cafe, at the corner of East Girard Ave & Day Street, sits in the center of the newly emerging "East Girard Restaurant Row". Floor to ceiling windows fill the room with light and offer the perfect view of what is rapidly becoming Fishtown's Food & Nightlife corridor. Just steps away from Johnny Brenda's, Fathom Seafood House, Murph's Bar, & around the corner from Frankford Ave's Lola Bean and Stephen Starr's brand new beer garden, Brindle Cafe offers the perfect view to "people watch" while you dine. The Menu, purposely understated and simple in appearance, will leave you utterly shocked by the ridiculous deliciousness of the fare.
Don't be fooled by the simple, quaint look of the place. You won't get a cappuccino or caramel half-caff macchiato at brindle! What you will get is quite simply the most delicious cup of coffee you have ever tasted. It comes in One-Size-Fits-All by the cup, or French press style, intentionally simplistic, to allow the unparalled quality of the coffee in its purest form to be enjoyed. Our friend at One Village Coffee, a specialty roaster have found the very best beans and roasted them to pure perfection, and we don't mess with perfection. We encourage it.
Start with a Salad, which arrives piled so high it literally overflows the bowl with the freshest local greens, naturally delicious veggies and a variety of other tastes and treats tossed in one of our signature dressings, made completely from scratch right atop your salad. Detail, details, details.....
The Sandwich, built starting with the freshest local bakery breads, are piled with meats like chicken, beef or pork, all done from butcher to table by us, and slow roasted without any oils or fatty additions. You'll be taken back by the sweet, succulent roasted pork that was dry-rubbed in our very special spice blends and drizzled with natural honey before slowly roasting to perfection. Give it a sprinkle of fresh ground pepper, a lone cherry pepper for just the right amount heat, and then surround it on both sides with thick, melty provolone, and ..........."sorry, drifted off thinking about how unbelievably good the resulting sandwich is. Now, where was I?"
Desserts from the finest bakeries and some of our very own, teas from around the globe, iced teas brewed fresh, etc. Brindle Cafe! ...just sooo good. Come see.
