BEL 50 is a modern, fast-casual restaurant specializing in gourmet waffle sandwiches. The restaurant’s signature waffle bread created by Chef Altman is light, crisp, and airy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waffles are not sweet, but instead taste like freshly baked country bread, but with more texture. Each waffle contains 220 calories, 27 grams of carbs, and 4 grams of sugar (80% less than a typical, Brussels waffle). BEL 50 also offers all sandwiches on a low fat, gluten-free waffle for a healthier alternative. Waffle sandwiches are served with both sweet and savory ingredient options and available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Designed by Norr Limited, BEL 50's interior is sleek and clean. The low community tables located throughout the dining room evoke a vibrant, “town center” feeling. The walls adjacent to this area are adorned with images of old Belgium presented in a new fashion, stamped together to create an asymmetrical, graffiti-like art wall that serves as a focal point. Large, textured pendant light fixtures hang over the community tables and glow at night, allowing passersby a view of the bustling dining room through BEL 50’s large front windows.
